New Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition trailer details the challenge and fun that awaits you!

Clear World 1-1 as Mario, complete a dungeon as Link, best Meta Knight as Kirby, grab upgrades as Samus and even pop a wheelie in Excitebike. You may have done some (or all!) of these activities before, but do you have what it takes to do them better and faster than anyone else?

The Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition game for the Nintendo Switch system brings the excitement, spectacle and high-stakes challenge of the in-person Nintendo World Championships of yore right to you, at home or on the go. A new overview trailer details more of what to expect from the game’s multiple modes and myriad challenges. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW3rNlfRgyM.

Prove you have what it takes to be a champion as you tackle more than 150 speedrun challenges taken from 13 classic NES titles. Relive memorable moments in games like Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Metroid, just to name a few. Play solo, compete against the clear times of players from around the world, post your best time on the online* leaderboards or invite friends and family for local gameplay of up to eight players** on a single system.

Don’t know where to begin? Start small in Speedrun Mode by seeing how quickly you can snag the first mushroom in Super Mario Bros. or how fast you can gobble up an enemy in Kirby’s Adventure. Then push your skills to the limit by racing against the ghost data of players online in Survival Mode and World Championships, or with the extra-tough Legend Challenges. Don’t worry: If you get stuck on a Legend Challenge, you can always check out the included in-game Classified Information for tips to help you improve!

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition launches on Nintendo Switch July 18. Pre-orders for the digital version are available now on Nintendo eShop at a suggested retail price of $39.99. The Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Deluxe Set containing a physical version of the game and other bonus items is also available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of $79.99.
